Francis Kelly
Fourth-year Cloud Computing student at TU Dublin with a distinction-grade background in Networking Technologies. I build practical infrastructure and automation solutions — from Kubernetes observability platforms to IoT-powered wireless survey systems.
About Me
I specialise in cloud infrastructure, network engineering, and backend development. My work spans self-hosted Kubernetes clusters, REST API design, IoT data pipelines, and security-hardened Linux environments — built to be reliable, observable, and maintainable.
Web Design & Frontend
Clean, responsive interfaces built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Focused on simplicity, usability, and smooth user experiences.
Networking & Infrastructure
TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, and server configuration. Hands-on Linux administration and secure remote environments.
GitHub & DevOps
Git workflows, branching strategies, pull requests, and well-organised repositories for team collaboration and CI/CD pipelines.

Projects
Wi-Fi Site Survey & Real-Time Heatmap
A full wireless-analysis system using ESP32 IoT nodes to collect Wi-Fi RSSI values and generate a real-time heatmap with Python, NumPy, SciPy, and Matplotlib.
- 4× ESP32-C3 survey nodes measuring RSSI simultaneously
- ESP-WROOM-32 controller aggregating and forwarding readings
- Python heatmap overlay with automated hotspot identification
- Won Best IoT Project Award at TU Dublin
Work Experience
Crew International — Junior Automation & Backend Developer
- Built and maintained automation workflows using n8n and Make.com, reducing manual processing time across internal pipelines
- Developed RESTful APIs with Node.js and PostgreSQL to support core business operations
- Managed a production Debian VPS including DNS configuration, firewall rules, and SIP security hardening
